Mississippi Sweets BBQ - Boca Raton: Experience Authentic Southern BBQ Delights

The ribs, the slaw, the baked beans - everything here is delicious. They’ve been around since the early 1990’s because they are great. The only place for BBQ.

After shopping at the Town Center Boca mall, a collection of trending restaurants popped up in the area on my phone. I took notice and decided to try Mississippi Sweets. It was only 5 miles away on Federal Highway so we showed up on their doorstep. I decided to try new places this year and this is where I started. We were there at the perfect time this past Friday evening at 5:30 pm. This is a very small intimate venue with tables and chairs on either side of a bar where they collect money and outgoing orders. There were a couple of tables of two available. There were also tables outside with an above awning. It appeared to be a very casual fun place. Ingrid was our very fun and adept waitress. She explained the menu and offered her recommendations. Paul got a couple of beers and we ordered large orders of Denmark ribs and wings which came with two sides. We had the string beans, macaroni and cheese and the Mississippi sweet potato chips. The orders came in a very large straw basket. They almost took over the whole table. She brought over squeeze bottles of two different sauces for added flavor. Wow! So much fun, food, flavor and mess! Other patrons have come here for years. They love it. Payment in cash was rewarded with a 3% discount but if you paid with a credit card, there was no added cost. When we walked out, the line was outside the door to get in. I was not surprised. We just came at the right time and I’m sure we will be back.

We Recommend and will come back. Big portions. Great pulled pork, mustard sauce and meaty ribs. The pulled sirloin was too blackened for my liking and parts of the ribs were too blackened , & The baskets may be a hygiene issue . The potato wafer fries were good too Great server Thank you Sage! Come before 6pm or it gets crowded and bring a sweater because they crank the AC

Some of the best BBQ I’ve had. My family & I always make it a point to eat here when we’re visiting Boca. The atmosphere & service feels homey, comfortable & welcoming. Everything is so simple but effective. The ribs & blackened chicken breast with tractor treads & cornbread is to die for.

My friend believes Mississippi is the BEST BBQ in Boca, & I think she is correct! It's the only BBQ in Boca that I've been to, but I loved it!!! Our server was wonderful. The atmosphere is Chill Cowboy. Parking is easy. The food was fabulous. We enjoyed the pulled pork & the ribs. Awesome evening !!! Highly recommend Mississippi Sweets BBQ

The food is always excellent here. I didn’t get a picture of the wings because we devoured them too quickly but they are perfection. Crispy and tender and served hot. The ribs were delightful and the pulled pork was delicious. Also, I have to give a special shout out to Ingrid who is the best server you could ask for. She remembered my friend and I from previous years visiting the restaurant, and was just so friendly and attentive. She even gave us to go cups for our iced teas and a refill at the end of our meal. Can’t wait to return here next time I’m in the area and I hope Ingrid is working when I return!

Bbq place with really good food I had the fried catfish and loved it. Green beans and bbq beans are really good also Partner had bbq beef sandwich w/ Mac-n-cheese. Both very good also. Will definitely go back.

I got a giant plate that included ribs and wings. I think the wings were a little better than the ribs, everything was very good but I like my baby back ribs just a little bit more tender. These had a little bit too much chew, but I ate every last one of them! I say it’s very solid. My waitress was a sweetheart.
